Demi Cintaku Padamu.....

Salam buat semua..setelah sekian lama menghilangkan diri....and I missed the novelty cake competition too...However, alhamdulillah, I got the chance to update this blog...was so busy with orders and also the wedding of my dear bro in law in Kota Tinggi...the last wedding in the family...ha...ha...ha..we just recognise first wedding only..if ada second or third wedding, buatlah sendiri. to my close friends especiallyto those in Johor, sorry for not inviting coz it was just a small reception. My mother in law was the "big Director" for the wedding and she is so creative..semua hantaran and pelamin dia yg buat...jimat belanja n menepati citarasa sendiri..the concept was roses n roses...white, pink and red roses...

And I was given the honour to do the wedding cake..which I took it as a very big challenge....lebih teruk daripada masuk competition...The judge for this wedding cake lebih hebat dari semua pakar didunia...Its not about winning..but it's about samada I dapat memuaskan hati my dearest my MIL...my ibu....Actually my BIL wanted his Honda as his wedding cake...but ibu wanted a flowery concept and as usual...had to give way to ibu....Ha..ha...ha..Apis, my BIL can have his Honda for his second wedding..but i will not dare to do it for him, carilah orang lain...Someone will definitely gonna kill me if I do the Honda for him...

Ibu memang suka sangat dgn bunga2 especially roses n majlis perkahwinan tersebut memang dipenuhi dgn bunga2an yg digubahnya sendiri..which was sooo beautiful...So I had to make sure that my cake sama conceptnya.....flowery, romantic...and of course it has to be very elegant n classic too....but tak boleh lari dari roses...At first I wanted to do something related to the pelamin design...but it was a disaster..a very big disaster...what I did was...airbrushed the base with light brow...did few free cutouts n tampalkan keliling cake...and sebagai orng yg sungguh "artistic"...ha...ha..ha.,jgn salah faham makna tu..bukan nak mengampu diri....but sebagai sindiran kepada diri sendiri...I cuba buatkan blots using gold dust using brushes..konon2nya nak kan dusty effect...lain yg dicita..lain yg jadinya...I ended up with a very ugly "cheetah" effect...disebabkan warna airbrush yg belum kering...Termenung sekejap n kebetulan my maid lalu.."Lin, apa kamu fikir tentang kek aku? Aku mahu pandangan ikhlas dari kamu". Terkebil2 mata si Linda cuba mencari jawapan yg benar2 ikhlas..salah jawab khuatir dipotong gaji agaknya...Lama dia duduk memikirkan jawapannya..Akhirnya "Kan belum siap kak...nanti kalau udah siap mesti menarik seperti selalu". "Aku bukan kata sesudah siap...aku mahu pandangan kamu sekarang?".....Ha..ha...ha..kesian si Linda, lagi terkebil2 mencari jawapan...mungkin sambil menelan air liur..."Kurang cantik kak...Tidak mcm yg selalu kakak buat.." Haaaaa...tu dia, akhirnya jawapan yg sgt ikhlas dari my maid...Yup, she was right..it was sooo ugly in my eyes...even my daughter Iman who is 7 cakap kurang cantik....selalunya cantik...Well, I guessed i knew what I patut buat....Cuba teka apa agaknya I buat?



I buka balik the whole thing...the fondant maksud I....Iced kan bali kek and this time datang idea lain...To my decorator friends, jangan mudah mengeluh if apa yang kita rancangkan tidak menjadi and jgn cepat give up...coz sometimes our failure will create something better...always remember, Allah has HIS special way didalam mengajar and menyedarkan kita...so jgn cepat putus asa....never jadikan kegagalan kita sebagai pembunuh kepada hasil karya kita...Ok back to the cake...Lepas cabut semua fondant..i terus dapat ilham untuk buat something different..



So for the 1st tier..i "balutkan" dgn kain satin..colored with ivory and then airbrush dgn pearl sheen...and ditabur manik pearl juga...Keseluruhan base ditutup dgn "kain satin"...and it really created a very big impression..Tak susah sebenarnya nak buat effect lipatan kain ni...mcm kita deal dgn kain betul...has to make sure it has natural drops and flows..jgn kaku...



For the 2nd n 3rd tier..i buatkan lace effect..guna lace mould dari SF..However I cairkan sikit warna tiers ni..so nampak ada kelainan sikit...airbrushed sepeti biasa dgn pearl sheen...boleh juga if tak diairbrushkan but taklah cantik sgt hasilnya...For those yg masih takut dgn airbrush..dont worry, airbrushing bukannya susah mana pun...picit and tekan saja..takda yg teknikal...Trust me, anak kecil pun boleh airbrush..so pada sesiapa yg ada airbrush, gunakanlah semaximum yg mungkin airbrush tu...jgn dijadikan tukun or brng perhiasan...he..he..he...Kak Suzana from penang...jgn biarkan airbrush berabuk ye...lol ;p




And now, lets talk about the hiasan...ofcourse..it has to be roses and romantic...so for the topper I decided to letakkan jambangan kecil of roses yg I buat sendiri..



and hiasan pengiringnya...i buatkan "rantai mutiara" berjatuhan dari atas and hingga kebawah menjejaki 1st tier..and this was done by my daughter Diyana...she is really good in making pearls. I love pearls sooo much in my real life..i prefer pearls to gold for perhiasan diri...To me..pearl melambangkan kelembutan, keromantikan, kewanitaan, keanggunan..dan banyak lagi



Ok...now...the main flowers....gubahan roses bersulamkan daun yg i sendiri lupa namanya...mula2 buat daun hijau..but tak padan pula rasanya ..so bila jumpa daun yg corak macam ni terus tukar...the different colours are manually colored/lustered.


As for the roses..alah bisa tegal biasa..jgn takut nak cuba..Mula2 cuba takkan dapat perfect terus kan...banyakkan practice..jgn asyik nak bergantung pada bunga yg dibeli dikedai sahaja...



All the roses disapukan dgn petal dust...By the way, lingkaran merah tu adalh wire bunga yg dibalut dgn florist tape merah. So jambangan tersebut diletakkan disisi kek..




Haaaa..berdebar juga...bila kek dah siap, i duduk sambil membelek...and telling my mucnhkin.."this cake is too simple, do u think Ibu will like this cake?" And I dah tahu jawapannya "U are looking at it from a view of a designer..but for normal people it's spectacular"..Yup my munchkin always know how to mententeramkan perasaan I every time I complaint about my own design.



So the cake travelled all the way to Kota tinggi and we were the last to sampai...ha...ha...ha..sebab tu le I risau sgt...but alhamdulillah..sampai aje kek, semua mengerumini nya and the best reaction was from my Uda.."Alah cantiknya Kin..."..and tak habis2 dia memuji especially my laced tiers..padahal I hanya guna lace mould aje...Dari airmuka ibu, I know she was very happy and pleased with the cake..alhamdulillah..tq Allah...



So since we had our yassin very early in the morning..the cake pun harus bersiap awal...and as usual..I had my own tier separator to suit with the setting up of the cake...My aunties ..Uda n cik Ija pun turut sama menghias meja kek and it was fun...we had petal roses ditaburkan keliling and diletakkan 3 tangkai mawar putih..it was so lovely and romantic..minta maaf ya...saya cuba memerasan kan diri....


The cake was the main attraction during the ceremony...and I was really happy to see that ibu was so proud with cake...dia jadi promoter utk kek tu pada kawan2nya..me so happy...hilang rasa penat...



And ramai yg ingat satin cloth tu the real one..sampaikan pengantin sendiri tanya mcm mana nak potong kek tu..yg mana satu kek..of course it was a real cake..and bila sahaja kek dipotong berkumandang lagu "Demi cintaku padamu"..and it was so romantic..but dlm masa yg sama I noticed muka DJ was mcm terperanjat..rupa2nya dia memang terperanjat sampai dia buat announc3ment..yg dia memang terperanjat coz dia ingat tu kain betul and all the while dia fikir mcm mana nak cut through the kain..kena angkat ke..lol..padanlah muka dia hairan semacam aje bila pengantin potong kek...


so for the first time..I had to cut my own decorations utk didistributekan kepada semua para tetamu and alhamdulillah cukup..Sedih juga..but what to do....alhamdulillah, ramai yg memuji kek tu..and even ada yg nak tempah..oh dear..jauhnya nak hantar...but alhamdulillah ..




Ada few funny incidents wktu i potong kek tu..but sebelum tu dah memang ada yg duduk "mengendap" kek I....and waktu pengantin potong kek pun dah ada yg mengendeng tepi meja...ha..ha...ha.rupanya mereka berminat pada sesuatu....guess what? It was so funny..semua yg hadir gelak tenguk gelagat mereka...



They were eyeing for my pearls rupanya...sibuk minta rantai pearl tu waktu i potong kek...and they were so happy bila I bagi..siap pakai kat leher..and sambil memakan the beads...jangan semut naik keleher udah...

All in all..we were so happy majlis berjalan dgn lancar walaupun kepenatan melayan tetamu..and alhamdulillah coz my kids will have their weddings in Melaka not in Johor..lol...If buat kat Johor tak larat coz majlis sampai kepetang..semuga Allah memanjangkan usia me and my darling munchkin to see all the happy moments..Well before I pen off..to apis and ana selamat pengantin baru..always bertolak ansur didalam segala hal..and always appreciate pasangan kita..Jangan diperbesarkan isu yg remeh temeh and terimalah segala kelemahan yg ada pada pasangan kita...Banyakkan bersabar and always remember pasangan kita adalah anugerah terbaik Allah untuk kita..bagaimana kita begitu jugalah pasangan kita..semuga kasih sayang bersemi hingga ke jannah..and talking about this..last week, I bersolat maghrib disebuah surau lama di Limbungan Melaka..a very old surau..me and my munchkin always stop at this surau satu masa dulu bila tk sempat nak solat magrib dirumah..and I really love to solat here..so menenangkan walaupun surau kecil . We know well the bilal...so bila dah lama tak pergi, lepas solat berbual le dgn Pak bilal..dia jemput dtng kerumahnya ..tapi dia kata masak le sendiri apa yg ada since isterinya dah meninggal..So diceritakan lah tentang pemergian isterinya yg tak disangka2..and isterinya dah meninggal lebih kurang 2 tahun..hampir sama dgn my darling mum...Mengalir air mata mendengar dia bercerita..Ramai yang suruh dia kahwin..but jawapannya senang aje pada setiap orng yg suruh dia kahwin.."Kau lah kahwin"..dia cakap..tiada apa lagi yg diperlukan selain menumpukan perhatian pada sisa usia yg makin berkurangan...tiada beban jgn cari batu untuk digalas..and I noticed ada airmata bergenang dikelopak matanya..Dlm suara sebab dia berkata sebab sebenarnya dia mahu bersama isterinya semula sewaktu diakhirat..Ya Allah..air mata I mengalir waktu mendengar pengakuan dia..begitu taat kasih sayangnya untuk isteri tercinta..berapa ramai lelaki diluar sana yg kehilangan isteri berfikiran begini..majoriti yg I tahu pasti akan mencari baru..walau besar mana kasih sayangnya sekalipun...infact ada yg berkata mereka boleh babas if mereka keseorangan..semuanya alasan lelaki..Rasanya I nak buat aje award pada duda2 yg tidak berkahwin and tetap mendambakan kasih untuk arwah isteri tercinta..How I wish..hmmmm..Dlm sedih..sempat juga my munchkin bergurau dllm kereta..."Ada teka teki untuk u..apa dia...banyakkk sgt berlaku? Memang banyakk berlaku? And terlalu amat jarannnng berlaku?" Agak2nya apa jawapannya? Well..this is the jawapan to his teka teki-teki...banyakkk sgt berlaku - suami yg kahwin lebih dari satu sewakut hayat isterinya...Memang banyak berlaku - suami yg terus kahwin bila isterinya meninggal and amat jarannngg berlaku - suami yang tidak berkahwin lagi bila isterinya meninggal..Hmm..dlm gelak I cuba meneka my munchkin masuk dlm kategori yg mana?

well dah melalut pula I ..okay let me share with all of u..kegembiraan keluarga kami menyambut menantu and adik ipar...




The rehearsal a nite before with all the pari2s n the para2s..wow..it was a very tiring rehearsal controlling the kids and penuh gelak ketawa...lucu tenguk gelagat mereka..



And the para2s bersantai before the perarakan..4 orng sahaja ..tapi havocnya Ya Allah....tu belum lagi yg buat hal tak nak masuk barisan...




The sweet Pari2s...they are so sweet n pretty..ut dlm kelembutan tu sempat juga bergaduh..berebutkan bunga tangan..padahal sama saja.




and the perarakan masuk rombongan diraja....lead by cucu sulung my darling Diyana..she was so shy...but she had to do it demi menenangkan si para2 paling kecil ...if not kucar kacir dibuatnya...However, they suprised us during the persandingan..they were so well behave and they were so cute n lovely..



Alhamdulillah..everything was ok..walaupun kami penat...Thank you allah kerana memudahkan segala urusan kami pada hari tersebut..nampak jelas semangat kejersama dan kekeluargaan yg rapat...too bad..this will be the last wedding and mungkin susah lagi untuk mengumpulkan emua ahli keluarga kami yg besar...hanya kematian sahaja yang akan dapat mengumpulkan semua ahli keluarga kedua belah pihak ibu and ayah...and dlam suasana yang berbeza...

well, before i pen off...ha..ha...ha..berapa kali cakap nak pen off..tapi tak pun..maafkan lah saya..Well kali ni real punya but pada yg belum lagi menggantikan puasa tahun lepas..segeralah berbuat dmikian..usah ditangguh2 kan and semuga usia kita panjang untuk bertemu dengan bulan Ramadhan yang amat dirindui..amin....Salam sayang buat semua....

Silver Garland

salam to all...for the past few days I had been so busy..practising my hands on sugarpaste flowers...and for my wedding cakes next week. It had been a very long time since the last time I updated this bloq with my wedding cakes...as usual excuse org malas....BUSY...terlalu BUSY..ha..ha..ha....so sementara mempunyai kerajinan, I will present to all of u a very special cake commissioned by my special friend who always trust my artwork walaupun masa ni I baru berjinak2 with wedding cake..talking about wedding cakes..nowadays ..ramai yg sudah labelkan I with wedding cakes...and some were suprosed when I told them..i also buat birthday cakes and cupcakes...my artwork is not limited to wedding cakes only....but i'm very honored to be labeled as wedding cake designer..And I'm so happy coz setakat ni tiada repeated desing..every design is specially done for every of my special customers...that's why if u all notice....that's what I have on my business cards.."Your Special Day is Ours too" and I'm really sorry if ada request from customer asking me to reproduce the same cake had been rejected by me...coz as what I promise...the design is highly customised and special for one customer setakat ni..semuga Allah terus memberi ilham utk berkarya...Ha..ha..ha..when ordering cakes from me, please don't expect to see the layout or the sketches of the cakes upfront..To be honest..I always have rough ideas what I want to do in my mind..but when it comes to the actual cake it will be different..coz I believe sketches will kill my creativity...I don't want it to limit the beauty of my wedding cake...

Ok..back to the cake...notice the toppers...aha..what happen to flowers..why abstract flowers...Hmm this cake was done for a groom..so I nak this cake looks "handsome" lol..and I was glad the color chosen was silver n white..so lagi le bertambah "handsome" my cake..Ha..ha..ha...cake pun "handsome"...Yup that's how I treat my cakes..to me my cakes are just not cakes..my cakes have to have characters...ha..ha..ha..macam2 I ni..but that's how I see my cake...and that's the reason why I'm in love with cake decorating..it gives me the chance to showcase my ideas...I just love to be different...Actually it was easy to do this toppers...just guna cutters but so sorry I lupa which brand...me n my bad memory... ;p



Let me start with the top tier ...As I had mentioned earlier...I wanted this cake to be very handsome n masculine...but at the same time I also want the cake to have some loving and romantic aura...so I chose to use my love mould bought from SF..and it was fantastic...and all the designs at the side were done manually with various cutters that i could find from my collection.



Second tier same technique...fondant cutouts too...more masculine look...but romantic... ;) Actually pening juga nak susunkan design yg sesuai..habis tunggang terbalik I susun cutters to get the desired design..


Bottom tier..basically the same too...masculine but romantic...and evertyhing was airbrushed with silver n pearl sheens...Yup, I love my airbrush.



So here is the whole three tier wedding cakes...ha.ha..ha..to me it's very handsome, masculine and romantic...that's how I see the cake...hopefully u guys agree with me..but different people different view...that's what make our life intresting..


So finally the cake was delivered to the venue..and I was so happy to see that my cake matched with the setting..alhamdulillah...Evrything was silver and the table top matching sgt dgn the design on my cake...and the happiest thing I got to meet my dearest friend together with her family members..I really enjoyed being with them and listening to their babblings...Hilang rasa penat when they really love the cake...





Sehingga kita bertemu lagi in my next entry...always believe there's no limit to creativity as long as we believe in ourselves..to be honest...even my darling munchkin selau cakap dgn I..infact up till now..he kept on saying.." Semenjak I kenal u, I never know that u hv this creativity side of yrs....Setau I ..u are so keras tangan"...ha..ha...ha...my munchkin also tak percaya...So i guess I just have to show more wonderful work of art..so that he percaya..ha..ha..ha..Hingaa ketemu lagi salam sayang and always stay psotive..the sky is the limit, insyaAllah...

The wedding gown - a beautiful cake for a beautiful sister

Salam to all...life is so busy right now....with my kek lapis project, my royal icing class with Kelvin Chua and at the same time diserang demam...few days pengsan but alhamdulillah dlm demam dapat juga buat this special cake...

This special cake is inspired by wedding gown design..I just love to look at wedding gowns...so cantik and feminin sgt...and lagi satu the most special thing about this cake...I didn't use any single cutter and mould....everything was hand made...and the second tier was decorated with royal icing...it was a very painstaking work..but the result was so wonderful and cantik....By the way..this cake was specially done for cik andam Erin..opss no more Cik andam..Puan Andam Erin....sudah naik darjat...;) The best thing about this cake...it was ordered last year...somewhere in November..masa Puan Erin placed the order...I gelak saje coz lama sgt..but time did fly very fast....akhirnya sampai juga saat dan ketikanya...but malangnya...few days before the preparation...I diserang demam..3 hari tk bangun...and the worst thing..sebab nak baik cepat untuk buat kek ni..i ambil ubat terlalu banyak..overdosed akhirnya..and on the 3rd day...I "lost" my hearing sight...was so panicked..just imagine tidak boleh mendengar..masa tu barulah terfikir...selama ni I just take for granted dengar nikmat Allah...but alhamdulillah now dah pulih dah...so jgnlah cuba2 nak makan ubat lebih..konon nak cepat baik...jadi lain pula akhirnya.

so back to the cake..Dari hari Erin order lagi dia dah beritahu I kek kahwin impiannya...ha..ha..ha...terlalu banyak impiannya...first impian...kek senget...lepas tu tukar pula...kek pastel colors...lepas tu tukar lagi...polka dot cakes...warna pink, biru and choc....ha..ha..ha...everythime dia tenguk wedding cake I..mesti ada aje design lain...but finally..it was up to me to decide everything...Actually when someone place the order..I prefer them to bagi tahu I the color theme and konsep yg mcm mana mereka berkenan...tu saja...and please no pictures of kek org lain, coz I prefer to do my own design..bukan nak sombong tapi ada sebabnya....I don't like to copy other people's work...and I love to experiment with things..so if customer dtg siap dgn gambar...it will kill my design mood...it's not my work then..it will limit my creativity..macam copy paste aje...but alhamdulillah...so far my customers are very alhamdullillah..tak cerewet and serahkan semuanya pada I..but my promise...InsyaAllah I will deliver beautiful cakes for their special day.

As for Erin's cake..as i had said...the idea was based from a wedding gown concept..so dlm kepala terbayang a white cake with hiasan yg halus dan juga ropol2 gown with beads..To me the second tier is the most special tier..u will know why soon and mengambil masa setengah hari untuk siapkan designnya....the second tier is my first time menggunakan royal icing...and menggunakan nozzle number one PME..mesti ramai yg nak tahu..mcm mana i boleh dapatkan hasil kerja yg begitu halus...oops lupa pula...a week before i did this cake..I attended a royal icing class taught by Kelvin Chua...can check his website kat tepi blog I..Vinism sugarart...He is a gifted cake decorator..just got back from London...an excellent master...I attended the swan lake class...insyaAllah after this entry I will update with my masterpiece from the class...and you guys will be amazed.....during the class I dah terbayang yg I nak buatkan design menggunakan royal icing for Erin's cake..


So here it is..the second tier decorated with royal icing design....the design was done freehand...he..he..he...kes malas nak lukis atas cake....Basically, I wanted the design mcm lace..mesti halus...and penat nak buatnya jgn cakap..The royal icing was piped straight onto the cake...penat tangan memicit piping bag. Mesti ada yg nak tahu..my royal icing recipe...Well...actually I gunakan royal icing powder..or known as Superice keluaran Laped dari Itali...so what's the difference dgn royal icing yg biasa...banyak advantage guna Superice....First of all..tak payah nak sukat ingredient....just agak2 banyak mana yg kita nak gunakan...masuk dlm mangkuk and straight away bancuh...teenguk consistency yg kita perlukan..samada untuk piping or runout..if terpekat, campur air..if tercair campur super ice sehingga sampai pada tahap consistency yg kita perlukan...kita hanya bancuh apa yg kita perlukan..If ada lebih simpan sahaja..ia tak akan basi...If kering masukkan sikit air. By the way, tak perlu guna mixer untuk bancuh...cukup setakat satu mangkuk and sebatang sudu. The best thing about this superice...it's very fine...tak akan tersekat kat nozzle...As for this project, I used nozzle number 1..PME..which i think is much better than Wilton...



I really love working with royal icing..it's so easy to use....and bermacam2 benda yg boleh dilakukan dgn royal icing..u will see the greatness of royal icing on my next entry..my swan lake project..As I mentioned earlier...I gunakan nozzle number 1 and had no problem of the icing being stucked ...the flow was just superb..



The patterns yg I gunakan pelbagai..coz I wanted to make sure nampak mcm real lace..and utk tambahkan seri, I hias dengan edible beads..pearl, Ivory and black...semuanya edible which were bought from Cake Connection KL. By the way for those yg diMelaka..u guys can get the superice from KingHin...I straight away inform Mr Lim about Super Ice and suggested to him to bring it to Melaka market..he..he..he senang ..tak payah nak gi KL utk dapatkan supply. By the way, for those yg duduk KL..u can get the super ice from Bakers choice in Setapak, Mama Min's Studio in Damansara Perdana...or Vanilla Pastry in Bangi



As for the 1st tier...I gunakan teknik lipatan...which is very easy to do....gelek fondant nipis...if nak cantik lagi gunakan another designed roller...then lipatkan..mcm lipat kain...lepas tu terus tampal pada cake..By the way, before that the cake kenalah balut dgn fondant dulu. After dah disusun lipatan tu..i buatkan ikatan riben..biasalah wedding gown mesti ada riben...ingat tak masa kecik2..if lukis baju pengantin or princess gown mest ada banyak riben. Untuk tambahkan serilagi..gown pengantin mesti ada beads...so I lekatkan edible beads sebagai hiasan..



For the top tier..teknik yg sama juga...cuma ikatan ribennya dibahagian bawah..bahagian atas ni seolah2 penutup dada pengantin...so i just want hiasan yg simple aje..


So finally ...the whole "wedding gown"..and seperti biasa tier separators done by my darling munchkin...and he had chosen lace ribbon yg seakan2 sama dgn my design concept....he is really good...Oops lupa pula..the whole cake diairbrushkan dgn pearl sheen even utk tier yg kedua...





The cake was sent to ERin's place..and was so happy that the whole family love the cake...yup..memang I merancang untuk beri Erin something special for her wedding...and this is my special gift for her...ha..ha..ha..I mean the design...teringat pula bait2 puitis dlam one of my favorite writer's novel ...bunga yg cantik adalah untuk org yg cantik....so this beutiful cake is for someone beatiful..not only dari paras rupa..but beautiful heart also...she is indeed a very beautiful sister..thank you Erin for all what u had done for me..tq for yr support and thank you for yr words when I am in my down mood...love u..mmmuahhh...




Last but not least to Erin and Shafiee...selamat menjalani kehidupan berdua..and always remember each of u adalah penyokong untuk yg lagi satu...sabar dlm menghadapi
segala ujian rumahtangga..and sentisa berdoa supaya sentiasa bersama hingga ke jannah...By the way...thank you for the warmth hospitality from yr family Datuk Yahya and Datin Rozana...glad that aunty loved the cake...salam utk aunty.
